Backyards is Lorenzo Boelitz, a general contractor, and Joyce McGuire,
a landscape designer. We have been in business since 1992, when we first
landscaped a house we were remodeling, and discovered how much fun it
was building gardens. Because of where we live, we've developed a specialty in design solutions
for San Francisco. Our business has grown around finding answers to the
questions posed by small, often steep, urban gardens.

We are a design-build company, usually working with our clients from the
design concept all the way through construction. We also work frequently
on projects with architects and landscape architects to build their designs.
